Overview

The VSPR is designed for individuals from all healthcare professional disciplines and is designed specifically for undergraduate learners. The resource consists of online learning modules pertaining to non-technical skills and learning through simulation activities utilising a virtual simulated patient.

The resource will provide undergraduate health professional learners a safe learning environment where they can develop and practice non-technical skills that are critical for safe and competent patient care.

The VSPR consists of six online learning modules and five learning through simulation scenarios that utilise a virtual simulated patient as a learning trigger. The resource is designed to be completed prior to attending clinical placement to enable learners to maximise learning opportunities in the clinical setting.

The modules are:

  1. Introduction to Non-Technical Skills in the healthcare environment.
  2. Communication.
  3. Leadership.
  4. Teams in healthcare
  5. Situational Awareness
  6. Decision Making.

The entire program should take no longer than six hours to complete. Upon completion a certificate will be issued. VSPR is a free resource offered to undergraduate health professionals.
